The IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is India’s most prestigious engineering entrance test, conducted for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions. It is held in two phases, JEE Main and JEE Advanced, serving as the gateway to the top engineering colleges in the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main, while JEE Advanced is organised by one of the IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).
What is IIT JEE?
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level computer-based test that evaluates a student’s understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
It is divided into two stages:
- JEE Main: Conducted by NTA for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other engineering institutes.
- JEE Advanced: Conducted by the IITs for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in IITs.
Students who clear JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
