Certificates Are Students’ Property: HC Files Against Medical College Withholding Docs.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed White Medical College and Hospital (Mohali) to hand over original certificates immediately to MBBS students who were transferred out due to infrastructure issues. The court clarified that the college has no legal right to hold student documents simply because dues remain unpaid. It noted that students cannot be disadvantaged for matters beyond their control. The college may still pursue the fee claim legally, but withholding certificates is impermissible.
